As many of you know in our profession, reading is an essential key to success in school and in life. I am very excited to be a part of the Valley Reading Council and look forward to a fun year promoting literacy for our students and to our area teachers. |

| • Continue good communication between the Valley Reading Council Executive Board, building representatives, and council members. |
| • Increase attendance and participation of the membership in Valley Reading Council functions. |
| • Provide quality programs and materials to students, parents, educators, and others involved in the promotion of literacy throughout the community. |
| • Actively support International and State projects. |
| • Establish partnerships with other organizations who share interests in literacy. |
